The FORCE behind FORCE Institute of Social Innovation
A Social Entrepreneur and Environmentalist, Jyoti Sharma is the Co-Founder and Chairperson of the FORCE group of Non-Profits. She is an IIM Bangalore (India) graduate, an Ashoka Fellow and a Swearer Fellow at Brown University (USA). Under her stewardship, FORCE has won several accolades and has been nominated to many policy and advisory committees of the Indian union and state governments. She brought to FORCE, an interesting blend of knowledge and experience – an academic background in Economics and Business Management; experience of working in advertising, marketing and academics. This translated into a vision and an approach built on partnerships, community-centered innovation, effectiveness and ratcheting impact with ethics and responsible leadership being the non-negotiables. Based on her own experience and that of social innovators and social scientists from across the world, she has developed a set of guidelines and recommended a learning path for effective social change-making. These encapsulated learnings are shared in FISI programs.
